Greetings!
We have a lot to cover this month....we have had
many requests for topics you would like to
see us incorporate into our newsletter. However, it
is
difficult to address all of your requests this month, I
will try to address them throughout the
coming months ahead. If you enjoy reading our
newsletter and can think of a friend, colleague, or
maybe a family member that would enjoy reading as
well, please forward a copy along to them. I
appreciate all of your positive input, and please
continue to keep in touch.

Accessorizing Your Room
Tell Your Story
"Accessorizing is like Jewelry", you have this
great
outfit, but without jewelry, its not going to Pop!!!
Accessories add personality to your home...they tell
a story about you to your guests, and they
make
your home more inviting and comfortable for you and
your family. Many of you that have worked with me,
often hear me say "think outside of the box".
I have
a true love for accessorizing, and nothing pleases me
more than to help my client tell
their "story". Many
of us have lamps that we have tucked away; try
removing the shade, harp, cording, switch, and use
the base for a lovely candle holder. Many times
when working with a client in a Redesign we will use
items like this....try grouping three of them together
for that pop. Another way to think about your
collections and accessories is to consider them
your "memory makers". I recently painted a
shadow
box coffee table. Instead of putting trinkets
that are considered "hands off", I replaced them with
pictures of my children with my Dad, Grandparents,
pets, and little notes they have given me over the
years. By doing this, you create that warm,
comfortable, inviting feeling to the room. Whenever
anyone sits in that room, it is the place that conveys
warmth, and invites you in for a viewing.

Decorating Your Entrance Foyer or Hallway
"One of the most Neglected"
This is the room where "first impressions" are
made.
Entryways and hallways are such a central part of
the home, and it is important they make a first good
impression. These neglected spaces just need a
little dressing up to become a more integrated part of
the home. Faux finishes or textured
wall coverings
create visual interest and add depth. When choosing
wallpaper, don't assume that a small foyer
should be
papered with an equally small printed design. Some
of the prettiest foyers that I've been in, were smaller
ones where the paper chosen was large scale and
very bold. The effect was wonderful!!! The
entry is
the perfect spot for Trompe l'oeil. The one
in this
entryway is from the wall to ceiling, and gives that
upward and outward feeling. Whatever the size of
your foyer, you should make the most of it!!! If your
space lacks architectural interest, consider having
someone come in and install crown molding. You
can experiment, adding layers, to create a more
unique look, that reflects your taste and personality.
When natural light is an issue, try adding a
mirror!!
There is nothing more beautiful than a gilded framed
mirror! It's like having a window where there isn't
one, and every trace of light brings the space to
life! We are happy to offer the pieces shown as part
of our sale for the month of February.
